A report from Wizz Air has ranked European cities based on solo-traveller travel review platform reviews to determine which cities are the best destinations for those travelling alone.
Solo travel has become an increasingly popular trend, experiencing exponential growth. Just like any travel plan, the choice of destination plays a crucial role and requires careful consideration to ensure the best location for your solo holiday. From discovering solo activities to ensuring safety throughout your adventures, there are numerous factors to contemplate when deciding where to embark on your solo journey.
In a recent report by Wizz Air, the top city destinations for solo travelers have been unveiled based on reviews gathered from travel review platform. Andras Rado, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, highlighted the advantages of solo travel, such as the freedom to choose locations and reduced travel expenses. To assist solo travelers in selecting destinations with ample entertainment, the report ranks cities based on reviews from prior solo travelers.
Let’s explore the cities that secured top positions for solo travelers:
- Rhodes, Greece: Taking the lead is the Greek city of Rhodes, where 76% of solo traveler reviews rated it with 5 stars. Notably, the city’s attractions received a majority of 5-star reviews (79%), along with 73% of positive reviews for its restaurants.
- Split, Croatia: Securing second place is the Croatian city of Split, with 73% of solo traveler reviews rated at 5 stars. The city’s attractions earned a majority of 5-star reviews (81%), accompanied by 66% of positive reviews for its restaurants.
- Faro, Portugal, and Istanbul, Turkey: Sharing the third spot are the Portuguese city of Faro and the Turkish city of Istanbul, both with 67% of solo traveler reviews at 5 stars. Faro’s attractions received a majority of 5-star reviews (74%), along with 59% positive reviews for its restaurants. Istanbul’s attractions earned 64% 5-star reviews, accompanied by 71% positive reviews for its restaurants.
- Florence, Italy: Wrapping up the top five is the Italian city of Florence, with 66% of solo traveler reviews rated at 5 stars. The city’s attractions garnered a majority of 5-star reviews (71%), and an additional 61% of positive reviews were given to its restaurants.
The report identifies Rhodes, Greece, as the most ideal city destination for solo travelers, closely followed by Split, Croatia. These cities not only received a high volume of 5-star reviews from solo travelers overall but also specifically for their attractions and restaurants. Both cities achieved 5-star ratings for over 70% of their total reviews on the travel review platform.
