Rescue teams managed to save 29 people, while investigations are underway to determine the cause of the sinking. Authorities are examining whether mechanical failure or human error played a role in the disaster.

Citing municipal officials, Reuters and Associated Press reported that six foreigners had died. The Russian consulate in Hurghada said all the tourists on the submarine were Russian citizens.

Hurghada is one of Egypt’s most popular tourist destinations, attracting thousands of visitors for its world-class diving and marine excursions. However, this incident raises new concerns about the safety standards of underwater tourism in the region.
