The city Ronda in Malaga, is working on a brand-new €1.6 million Spanish gorge walk.
A Spanish city that attracted the likes of Orson Welles and Ernest Hemingway is expected to attract a large number of tourists.
Situated atop a profound valley, Ronda in Malaga, southern Spain, has long been a popular destination for both locals and visitors, drawn by the canyon’s remarkable depths of over 100 meters. There’s going to be a new, easier method to enjoy the amazing location soon.

For the first time, visitors will be able to stroll down the canyon’s base via the recently renamed Camino del Desfiladero del Tajo.
The second phase of a bigger project to restore the most famous landmark of the historic city will be the new Spanish gorge walk.
In order to comply with safety regulations, the project started by renovating a route that now runs along the edge of the Nuevo Bridge.
A newly constructed, 400-meter trail that has been restored also offers magnificent views from various angles.

At the base of the gorge, which runs alongside the Guadalevín river, a completely new boardwalk is being installed as part of the second phase of construction, according to the local municipality.
Additionally, a new “hanging platform” that will allow tourists to walk the whole length of the gorge is being built by engineers.
They have been collaborating with well-known architect Luis Machuca, who is the mastermind behind Malaga’s Caminito del Rey suspended walkway, which stretches 50 km north of Ronda along the El Chorro valley.
As she introduced “our most unique and iconic monument” to the local press, Ronda’s mayor expressed her excitement for both the opening and the tourists it will bring to the city.
Maria de la Paz Fernandez Lobato and her administration anticipate a surge in tourism as a result of the new gorge attraction.
Both American writers from the previous century, Ernest Hemingway and Orson Welles, were great admirers of the city while they were there.
Hemingway in particular loved it and thought it was a very charming place.
He added, “If you ever go to Spain on your honeymoon or if you ever bolt with anyone, that is where you should go.”
Entry to the Camino del Desfiladero del Tajo is free for Ronda inhabitants and charges €5 per person for those wishing to walk in the footsteps of literary greats.
