United stated this week that the airline will provide 25% more flights this summer to 114 foreign cities. There will be more flights to a number of locations, including Barcelona, Berlin, Edinburgh, Melbourne, Naples, Paris, Rome, Shannon, and Sydney. Additionally, United will add a new service to Malaga.

“With unprecedented demand for travel overseas, we’ll have more service to popular cities while also adding new and unique destinations for customers to explore.”
United’s Senior Vice President Patrick Quayle
On May 25, the airline will launch a brand-new daily service between San Francisco and Rome, making it the sole American carrier to do so. United will restore flights to Stockholm in Europe after discontinuing it in 2019.
“United will also be the biggest airline flying across the Pacific this summer, flying to 27 different locations. This summer, United’s capacity across the Pacific will exceed 2019 levels by more than 15%, excluding Mainland China and Hong Kong, according to a statement from the airline.
Additionally, United reported that foreign reservations made in March 2023 are 15% more than reservations made in March 2022.
United started a brand-new route between Newark and Dubai last month. Given that United is the only U.S. airline that offers nonstop service to Dubai, the new route was crucial.

Not just United is launching additional routes in preparation for the busy summer travel season. American Airlines announced more services to Ireland earlier this year. Along with expanded service from Los Angeles to London, Delta also announced an increase in flights to Europe.
