The free Singapore tour program for transit and transfer passengers, who made up about 30% of passenger flow, has been reinstituted at Changi Airport in Singapore.
According to accounts, the free tour was recently re-launched by the Changi Airport Group (CAG), Singapore Airlines (SIA), and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) following a two-year hiatus caused by COVID-19.
The City Sights Tour, Jewel Tour, and Heritage Tour, among others, have been updated to include fresh places of interest. Travelers will soon be able to take a brand-new Changi Precinct Tour that will expose them to the intriguing sights and sounds of Singapore Changi Airport’s Eastern environs. Each trip lasts approximately 2.5 hours and is offered every day.
The Changi Airport website now offers advance booking to make journey for passengers easier. The Free Singapore tour is open to all transfer and transit travelers who have layovers of at least 5.5 hours but less than 24 hours. To participate in the excursions, travelers merely need to have a current entry visa for Singapore.
The schedule will emphasize sustainable elements at some of the destinations and give visitors a rundown of Singapore’s sustainability initiatives. This will include Jewel’s Eco Community Garden on the roof of “Our Tampines Hub,” Gardens by the Bay’s environmental sustainability projects (as part of the City Sights Tour), and (as part of the Jewel Tour).
Lim Ching Kiat, Executive Vice President of Air Hub & Cargo Development at CAG, commented on the development and added that they are pleased to bring it back with the resume of travel, adding that the same will also entice passengers to experience more in the airport.
