Jaguar Land Rover has entered into a multi-year strategic partnership with NVIDIA, the global leader in artificial intelligence (AI) and computing, to jointly develop and deliver next-generation automated driving systems, as well as AI-enabled services and experiences for its customers.
All new Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles will be built on the NVIDIA DRIVE™ software-defined platform beginning in 2025, delivering a wide range of active safety, automated driving and parking systems, and driver assistance systems. The system will provide AI features such as driver and occupant monitoring, as well as advanced visualisation of the vehicle’s environment, inside the vehicle.
This full-stack solution is built on NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion™, which includes DRIVE Orin™ centralised AV computers, DRIVE AV and DRIVE IX software, as well as safety, security, and networking systems, as well as surround sensors. The AI brain of the car is DRIVE Orin, which runs the Jaguar Land Rover Operating System, and the central nervous system is DRIVE Hyperion.
In addition, Jaguar Land Rover will use in-house developed data center solutions with NVIDIA DGX™ for training AI models, as well as DRIVE Sim software built on NVIDIA Omniverse™ for real-time physically accurate simulation. Through over-the-air software updates, Jaguar Land Rover’s software-defined features and end-to-end verification and validation architecture will enable the delivery of innovative assisted and automated driving services throughout the vehicle’s life.
