Doha ranked second safest city in the world

As Qatar prepares to reopen its borders, Doha has been named the second safest city in the world in Numbeo’s Crime Index by City 2021 (The first place is owned by Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates).

The index, which tracks safety in 431 cities, reaffirms the country’s remarkable level of safety and security, while strengthening Doha’s reputation as a desired city, where business and leisure travelers can enjoy award-winning hospitality, business-friendly environments and excellence. in services.

In 2020, Qatar maintained its position as the safest country in the world, ranking 1st in the Numbeo Global Index. The ranking marked the third time the country has been named the safest destination in the world in five years.

The Operational Director of the National Tourism Council of Qatar, Berthold Trenkel, said: “We strive to improve and enhance the services provided to our international visitors. Doha’s ranking as the second safest city in the world this year and maintaining its position as the safest country in the world last year is a testament to the institutions that contribute to making Doha and Qatar the most welcoming and hospitable destination for both visitors, as well as for residents. . ”

Qatar is easily accessible from anywhere in the world, with the national carrier Qatar Airways connecting over 160 key destinations on six continents to Doha.
