Qatar Airways is redefining in-flight entertainment with the launch of a pioneering e-sports competition, “Gaming in the Sky”, onboard a commercial aircraft by introducing the world’s first-ever gaming competition held onboard a commercial flight. This bold leap into the future of air travel took place aboard a Boeing 777 flying from Doha to London Heathrow, transforming the passenger experience at 30,000 feet.

Fleet-Wide Rollout Underway
Following the successful debut, Qatar Airways is quickly expanding Starlink technology across its fleet. Thirty Boeing 777 aircraft are already equipped with the service, and the entire 777 fleet is expected to be upgraded by mid-2025. Installations on the Airbus A350 fleet are set to begin in summer 2025, further enhancing the airline’s digital offering.
