A brand-new deepest hotel in the world has entered the travel industry and is giving you the opportunity to spend the night below in a Victorian mine. If tales are to be believed, it offers the world’s deepest underground bed for a restful night’s sleep.
The Deep Sleep hotel, located 1,375 feet beneath Wales’ Snowdonia mountains, recently opened. Private twin-bed cabins, a “romantic” grotto room with a double bed, restrooms, dining areas, and more are included.
The hotel will only be open on Saturday nights and bills itself as a “remote-camp adventure experience.” According to reports, visitors’ experiences would begin on Saturday evenings at 5 PM at the Go Below base near Blaenau Ffestiniog, where the tour guides will assist them in getting to the hotel.
Visitors must make a 45-minute hike into the mountains along a path that is difficult in some spots but is otherwise lined with beautiful scenery. After that, they will make a halt at a cottage to “kit up” with a headlamp, helmet, Wellington boots, and a harness before starting their descent.
The visitors will then say goodbye to the outside world and descend into the largest and deepest abandoned slate mine in the world. The mine, which was in use from around 1810 until 1939, will then be traversed by visitors. They will have to cross crumbling bridges and historic miners’ stairways.
The tour guide will provide you with all of the background information on the men and boys who worked in the mine along the way. The journey down to the hotel should take about an hour.
After some hiking, the guests will reach a massive steel door that will serve as both the destination of their journey and the entrance to the Deep Sleep room. Numerous tiny cabins with single beds and other facilities are available there. Prepare yourself for a sound slumber after you go to your bedroom!
