You may walk about a mile through a forest canopy in Switzerland on the world’s longest treetop walkway.

From gorgeous train journeys to spectacular hikes, there are many ways to experience Switzerland’s natural splendor. With the installation of Senda dil Dragun, the world’s longest treetop walkway earlier this year, this summer’s list got a little bit longer.

On an elevated trail, Senda dil Dragun joins the Swiss communities of Laax Murschetg and Laax Dorf, stretching 1.5 kilometers (less than a mile). To far, approximately 45,000 people have visited Senda dil Dragun, which means “Way of the Dragon” in English.

Everywhere you go on the walkway, you’ll find options to enhance your experience, all while viewing the trees up close and in front of you! As part of this, there are four platforms with seating and informational exhibits that describe the forest’s various plants, trees, and wildlife. Younger visitors can get an extra dose of excitement by sliding down the spiral slide carved into the tower in Murschetg.

A new digital experience will be available starting Oct. 11, 2021, for visitors to the historic Senda dil Dragun. In five selected locations along the walkway, visitors will be able to access information about the region’s animal and plant life, geology, agriculture, and human settlement using a rented tablet and augmented reality (AR).

Senda dil Dragun will be transformed into a winter wonderland for the forthcoming holiday season, despite its appearance as a warm-weather activity. In addition, there will be music, storytelling, and appearances by children’s characters all along the walk.

Senda dil Dragun tickets start at $8.75 for youngsters and $17.50 for adults for a one-way trip. Flims Laax also boasts the largest snow park in Europe and the world’s largest halfpipe, so there are plenty of options for excitement before or after your trip to Senda dil Dragun.
