My first joint … and most likely the last!

* versiunea in limba romana mai jos

Amsterdam is a city that offers you many opportunities to try new experiences. And when I say experiences, I have a clear sense of the word!
Here you can make a simple visit or more than that in the Red Light District, you can legally smoke cannabis in coffee shops, you can try a visit to the Heineken Experience..
Smoking marijuana in Amsterdam was on my must to do list just before I bought my plane tickets.Said and done. I went into a coffe shop about which I had read positive opinions.

I entered with some emotions, I admit, but with some impatience. Emotions passed quickly due to the very good music that blessed you instantly and the guys who served at the bar with an extremely friendly attitude. After a brief discussion with one of them, I went to a table with the “lightest” joint they had (it cost like 5 euros). I sat down, lit it, drew deep smoke into my lungs, trying to make it aware of any changes in my body or mind. I smoked almost half and … nothing! Nothing at all! I was smoking and I thought that either I didn’t get what I needed or it didn’t work for me, but suddenly the first sign appeared: tingling in the fingers. What followed was faster than I expected. As if I was suddenly drunk. Just that I was perfectly aware of what was happening: diminished reflexes, difficulty in pronouncing words, a doubtful balance :)I got up, went out and headed for the tram station. I took the tram to the hotel trying to track the sequence of stations. Several times I was surprised to think of various. Thinking for a long time, or so I thought, because every time I looked on the screen and found that not even a station had passed. It was clear that my mind had a problem with time. Or at least with the conventional one 🙂
I knew very clearly the name of the station where I had to go down and that the station is about 50 meters after the hotel. I saw the hotel on the tram window, I got up and waited for it to stop. It stopped. Only after an eternity it seems. I came down convinced that I went down with at least one station later and that I will have to go back to the station at the hotel. Just looking in his direction … it was there, good, not 50 meters from where I was 🙂 And at that moment I calmed down and came to a conclusion: that I would stay at my beer and my conventional time that I know it for a lifetime!

A oprit.
